The first OMiG Awards (Online Marketing in Galway) took place yesterday in the Town Hall Theatre. Bec Boop was selected by the judges as a finalist in three categories: Best Blog, Marketing Leadership and the People’s Choice. Althought I did not win an award last night I am unbelievably thrilled at the recognition my blog has been given with the awards and had a fantastic night!

It’s not everyday I’m a finalist in an awards ceremony so I decided to dress like a princess (sure why not!). I wore my pink Chi Chi London dress with Greenes Shoes Amy Huberman heels. Seoidin Jewellery kindly matched me with some rose gold jewellery to complete the look. Since the event started at 6.30pm I got a few strange looks as I raced up to the Town Hall Theatre in my princess dress but I can’t say I even cared!! I was so excited and nothing felt better than seeing ‘Bec Boop’ appear on the big screen three times as a finalist. Although I was not a winner on the night this has driven me to work even harder on my blog and fingers crossed for next year!
Galway Marketing put on a great event with some really interesting guest speakers. It was also a fantastic opportunity to network and meet other businesses I had interacted with in the online world. It’s always great to put a face to the twitter page! There were some inspirational videos showing online success from a wide range of businesses. A huge congrats to all the deserving winners, I was honoured to be up there with the best. Everyone knows how much I love our city and to be given this recognition in Galway means everything to me.
