Last month I predicted that capes would be the biggest trend for November…what do you think? Was Bec Boop correct? I certainly indulged in the trend in my last outfit post of the month so I can’t have been too far off the mark. For December I believe Over the Knee Boots will be the must-have trend. ‘Click to View Post’ under the image to read my reasoning behind this and to shop the December trend prediction…
Now I imagine this trend has the fashion world divided. Nobody wants to look reminiscent of Pretty Woman no matter how much you adore the movie so the trick is in the styling. Layer your boots. I think they look amazing with ripped denims in various shades – blue-wash, grey or black all work well or alternatively wear them with printed tights and a cute skirt or skort for a stylish look. I had a browse through the online options for over the knee boots and to be honest my favourites were all black! I did see some brown and grey varieties but I’m sticking with black for this trend prediction. Worn in the correct manner they can give the illusion of ultra long legs (think Taylor Swift long legs!)
You can shop some of my online selections below. I’ll be pinning my favourite styling ideas for this trend over on the Bec Boop Pinterest during the coming month to give you all some more styling inspiration. Due to the fact that over the knee boots are a bit more on the pricey side you want to be sure you find a pair you love and that you will actually wear. The questions to ask before treating yourself to a pair of these boots are – ‘Would you wear them with a heel or is a flat option better?’ and ‘Will your chosen colour be easily incorporated into your Winter wardrobe?’ For the more petite fashionistas I would strongly encourage you to try them on in-store rather than shopping online as they might just be too high for your legs or too wide around your thigh which won’t look flattering. The joys of being a petite fashionista 🙂
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. What do you think of this trend? How would you wear over the knee boots?
