Fashion | Designer Spotlight Alice McCALL

I really enjoy writing designer spotlight style posts and trend alerts and realised I had not actually done one in quite a while, so I decided to focus today’s blog post on one designer. The designer I chose to share with you is Australian Designer alice McCALL who I was introduced to through Avenue 32 and who has been dominating my social media timeline since Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion Week SS 15/16 kicked off yesterday. The alice McCALL collection was presented today as part of the celebrating 20 years of MBFWA celebrations.
Australian designer Alice McCall
alice McCALL as a brand was launched at Australia Fashion Week 2004 and went on to swiftly receive International Recognition. Vogue UK described her inaugural collection as “best newcomer, prettiest collection and easily the most popular in class.” Prior to launching her own label alice McCALL had developed an impressive CV in the fashion world working as a stylist to the stars and in design at Sass & Bide.
With the collection being described as adorable, feminine and playful I just knew it would be right up my street. You can shop the alice McCALL collection (sp) online at Avenue 32 if you can’t make it into one of the four boutiques in Australia. I’ve shared some of my favourite picks from the collection in the image above. I adore the contrasting pastel shimmers with bold graphic designs and cuts. If I had to choose my dream piece to add to the Bec Boop wardrobe it would be Multi Cotton Imagine Jumpsuit (top left).
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. What are your thoughts on the alice MCCALL collection?
