I was genuinely so thrilled when I was contacted by Dr. Martens and asked to participate in this competition a few months ago. By no means was I expecting to be selected as a finalist let alone end up winning the competition!! I couldn’t believe it when I was informed that I was one of the 4 finalists selected from Ireland’s top fashion bloggers. We each had to style three different looks using a classic pair of Dr. Martens. You can see my three entries here, here and here. We also had to answer the question “What do you stand for?”, which I answered as follows:
I stand for hard work and persistence. Persistence is defined as continuing in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. Every time life puts a hurdle in my place I jump right over it and carry on with determination to succeed. I give 110% to everything I do in life from my career as an accountant, my blog, my freelance journalism work, events I’ve organised to my friends, family and basically everything I am involved in. I stay incredibly focused and I believe the key to happiness in life is ambition and drive. Persistence is in my personality and it’s what I stand for.
The competition was open for the full month of October with the winner being decided by public vote. Voters could like, pin or tweet the entry of their choice in order to vote. Over 3,000 votes in total were received in the competition with one lucky voter also being randomly selected to win the prize of a lifetime! This means Bec Boop is off to London to visit the Dr. Martens factory & museum, design my own pair of Docs and attend an exclusive concert as part of the #StandForSomething UK tour. I can’t believe it!! As you all know I absolutely love London!!
I cannot thank my voters enough, the support I received was so overwhelming, I genuinely could not have predicted the level of votes that were given to my entry. Thank you to every single person who voted for me and shared my entry on social media!! Congratulations also to the the other three finalists Niamh from Love Life blog, Along came Holly and Tiffany Depuis.
