Dr. Martens have teamed up with Walk Shoes, Cork who are celebrating their 5th anniversary this year, as part of the Dr. Martens A/W14 campaign #StandForSomething. They selected 4 of Ireland’s top fashion bloggers and challenged us to style one pair of classic Dr. Martens in three different looks. The prize is an amazing trip to London to visit the Dr. Martens factory and an opportunity to collaborate with this amazing brand, with tickets to an exclusive #StandForSomething gig in London too. One lucky voter will also win this prize so get voting!!!
What do I stand for?
I stand for hard work and persistence. Persistence is defined as continuing in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. Every time life puts a hurdle in my place I jump right over it and carry on with determination to succeed. I give 110% to everything I do in life from my career as an accountant, my blog, my freelance journalism work, events I’ve organised to my friends, family and basically everything I am involved in. I stay incredibly focused and I believe the key to happiness in life is ambition and drive. Persistence is in my personality and it’s what I stand for.
Voting is done through social media so you can either like, tweet or pin my competition entry from this PAGE HERE. You need to include #StandForSomething and #WalkShoes in your entry for it to count. I would absolutely love your vote as this is the prize of a lifetime and I really hope you enjoy the three looks I’ve styled. Dr. Martens were my first pair of school shoes back in 1992 and it’s amazing to think I’m here styling them more than 20 years later as part of a competition with International brand.
The first look I’ve styled is an everyday fashion look which is perfect for A/W. Cable-knit jumpers are one of this seasons key trends and the yellow complements the threading detail in the boots. I paired it with faded denim ripped jeans and a cartoon statement necklace. Keeping the outfit simple the focus is clearly on the boots!
