I have been using the new John Frieda Luxurious shampoo and conditioner for nearly three weeks now. I kindly received these items to review on the blog and wanted to try them out properly before posting the review. Let me start by saying my hair has a natural frizziness/volume to it so I would not normally go for volume enhancing products but I was pleasantly surprised by this range.
First up the shampoo, a clear gel which has a lovely salon scent that I really liked as my hair smelled as if I had been to the hairdressers for the whole day! This foamed up really well, was easy to rinse out and did not leave any build-up in my hair. The shampoo contains gentle cleansing agents which do not strip the hair. I always use conditioner as I tend to use lots of heat products on my hair and it can get quite dry otherwise. I followed the shampoo with a dollop of the conditioner and again found that this rinsed out super easily. My hair did feel slightly dry straight after washing it but this went away once it was dried. I did notice that my hair felt extra soft after using these products and I was impressed by the overall salon-like experience. The first day of using these products I let my hair air-dry and then straightened it with the GHD. I thought this might totally defeat the purpose of using volume enhancing products but I was amazed by how shiny and voluminous my straight hair looked. Take a look at the picture below where I was at a party with my mam that night and I promise my hair does not usually look so shiny and full!
So yes, I recommend these products for people with fine hair who want to add a bit of volume and also to those who have naturally full-bodied hair and want a sleeker volume look.

These products are available from Dunnes Stores, Super Value, Superquinn and selected pharmacies in Ireland and the prices are very reasonable. The shampoo and conditioner costs €6.31 each. I also received the mousse and hair spray from this collection which I will be reviewing on the blog soon.
