When it comes to makeup brushes I always seem to stick to the same ones – the more popular brushes from Real Techniques that we all love and adore. While these are fab of course, it can sometimes mean we don’t enjoy the fun of trying out other makeup brush brands. I was at an event recently and when I opened up the goodie bag after the event I found four packs of the Urban Beauty United (UBU) Makeup Brushes. These are the prettiest brushes I’ve ever seen and are super budget friendly, so I simply had to share them with you here.
My Thoughts
If you have seen my April haul video on YouTube you might have spotted these bad boys already. I actually had an opportunity to try out quite a lot of brushes from the collection so I hope you find this post really informative. Among the makeup brushes I’ve been using is the Berry Blush Angled Blusher Brush, Kabuki Crush Brush, Smoke Screens Smokey Eye Brush Kit and the Face On Complexion Tool Kit.
Can we take a moment firstly to appreciate how cute these brushes are. I’ve said it a few times now but I really am such a sucker for all things cute and girly. The rose gold detail and vibrant pink of the brushes will look supe pretty in your make up collection. And the price point! Each of the brushes and sets featured in this post are between £6-£12.
My favourite brush is definitely the Smudge Kitten eyeshadow brush from the Smoke Screens collection. This little beauty is just perfect for blending eyeshadow along your upper/lower lash line. The domed smudger brush makes blending foolproof. I’m also loving the Berry Blush brush for contouring. The foundation sponge in the Face On collection is really fantastic for blending concealer I’ve found.
One niggly thing which annoyed me (ever so slightly) is the pacakaging. It’s really not the easiest to open and as I was just dying to rip open the pacakging and play with my new brushes I had to hold off a few minutes as I struggled with the ziplock. Not the worst complaint really!
You can find UBU in Asda and Tesco in the UK, unfortunately they don’t appear to be available in Ireland yet but you can buy them on Amazon too or in the widget below.
