Goodbye November. It seems fitting that in my last blog post for November 2014 I revisit the November Trend Predictions post, which was of course – Capes. Well I finally added a cape to my wardrobe after a lot of shopping around and here is a look at how I styled it yesterday for a Saturday spent in Galway city – shopping and with family. When it came to finding the perfect cape the part I struggled with most was – finding the perfect ‘fitting’ cape. The majority of capes that I came across were ‘one-size’ and this ‘one-size’ tends to be a little too big for me and probably too big for most petite women. Just when I was about to give up on the cape mission, I stumbled across this knitted mini cape in Penneys/Primark. I love the fit, it’s such a cute, slouchy and realllllly cosy fit. It’s also great for Winter outfit layering. I wore a basic black long-sleeved top under my cape but you could change it up with some bright sleeves or striped sleeves underneath alternatively. As it’s super chilly out there I had my Ugg gloves on for most of the day. I wore these quite a lot last Winter and then I sadly lost one of the gloves. Well, I recently came across the missing glove so I’m delighted to be keeping my fingertips warm with these stylish babies again!
I teamed the cape with simple black skinnies and cut-out ankle boots which I am also quite fond of at the moment. Winter for me is a fantastic excuse to wear a hat – everyday! Yesterday I wore my grey/black colour-block floppy hat from Parfois and to add a pop of print I finished the look with a leopard print satchel which I thrifted a while back.
