I invested in a simple black trench coat a number of years ago on a shopping trip to Paris and I can safely say it is one of those items which has always remained my favourite coat to wear and style. Given our tempermental weather cycle here in Ireland and in the UK they make a sensible but stylish way to keep dry in the rain. Whether thrown over a simple denim look for some daytime shopping or draped over a more classic outfit for a night out you just can’t go wrong with a trench. I love that they are quite office-appropriate too so are a fantastic way to work some style into your office wardrobe.

I selected a range of different colour trench coats to show that you are not restricted to the classic cream or black trench, nowadays there are so many options out there. I would recommend choosing a length to suit your build, if like me you are petite I would stick with a mid-length trench whereas if you have good height you can opt for a longer-fit trench.
