Galway received an amazing surprise last Saturday morning with the announcement that Kodaline were playing a surprise gig in An Púcán as part of Guinness Amplify. With a very limited number of tickets available on a first-come basis my sister and I were thrilled to be one of the lucky few to get into the intimate gig. We put together a video from the night which you can watch below, just ‘Click to View Post’ to continue reading and for some photos from the night.
This was the highlight of the third week of Guinness Amplify which was taking place in Connacht. Everyone was so excited to find out who would be headlining the surprise gig and we were thrilled to hear it was Kodaline! It was my first time seeing them play live and I was unbelievably impressed. They really are a credit to the Irish music industry and had the full-venue singing along for the night. I haven’t stopped listening to Kodaline since!
The concert took place in An Púcán which is a newly re-opened bar and live music venue just off of Eyre Square in Galway city. I think this was a fantastic choice by Guinness Ireland as the venue is really retro with cool features throughout. The staff in An Púcán were so friendly and ensured that the lucky concert-goers had a brilliant night to remember! I’ll definitely be going back there for events/parties in the near future!
Dan Croll took to the stage first followed shortly by electro-pop trio London Grammar. Shortly after, Kodaline went on stage and performed their hits including ‘All I want’, ‘Love Like This’ and much more.
And here is myself and Stephanie enjoying the concert! Thank you Guinness Ireland and An Púcán! This will go down as one of my favourite Galway memories 🙂
I hope you enjoy watching the video we put together with some highlights from the night.
