River Island has long since been a favourite high-street store of mine. I love how their items are always so on-trend and with exciting collaborations such as Rihanna for River Island there is always something to catch my eye in-store. I was so disappointed when I realised that I had missed the AW13 Press Day and could not belive my luck when I was contacted and invited for a private vieweing of the collection in their Grafton Street store. Believe me, this was one of the best ways to spend my lunchbreak! Without further delay here are some shots from the new collection.

The first item I spotted was the baby blue mohair jumper and I fell instantly in love. How perfect is this for a cosy Winters day. There is an abundance of mohair, faux fur, leather, sequins and metallics in the new collection some of which is in-store already. The blingy statement necklace and box-clutch would make perfect Christmas Party season accessories and I will be keeping an eye out for these. There were also some bright ankle-strap shoes to add a pop of colour to your AW wardrobe and oversized coats to wrap up in. Another favourite of mine is the green metallic pants, I adore the tailoring and detail in this seasons collection and these are also on my wishlist! Finally the sequinned and sheer contrast dress also caught my eye before I left. This could be worn with opaque tights and a black blazer for a work night out or dressed up with heels for a Chirstmas Party night. The oversized sleeves on the dress really add a touch of glamour. The entire collection will be in-store by November so keep an eye out.
