Hi Fashionistas, I hope you had a fun weekend! I have started using Lookbook.nu now and thought it appropriate to review their app this month as the website is such an amazing fashion blogger resource. I am sure that the vast majority of fashion bloggers are aware of the Lookbook website at least even if they are not yet members of the forum, however my review focuses solely on the free mobile app version.
App Review: Lookbook
Features: Member Profile, Look Stream, Hot, New, Top and Filter by Gender
If you have not heard of Lookbook, this is a fashion website which allows users to upload images of their outfits and create their own street style gallery. Members can ‘Hype’ (equivalent of facebook ‘like’) their favourite looks. The looks with the most ‘Hypes’ are displayed on the coveted ‘Hot’ page. This is the first port of call when a member views the site and so it is always a perk to be displayed on the ‘Hot’ page. Members can also ‘Fan’ (equivalent of Twitter ‘follow’) users which ensures you receive updates on their looks.
Now that you have a background as to the nature of Lookbook.nu. lets take a look at the mobile app. Once logged in on the app, you can see your profile overview showing your looks, hypes and loves. The clear gap here is that you are unable to upload looks directly using the app. The mobile app is much more limited as compared to what is on offer when using the website. On the plus side it is great for browsing through looks and you can ‘Hype’ your favourite looks using this app also. Looks can be shared on facebook although it would be great to be able to view the Lookbookers profile directly from the look using the app. One additional feature which is great for browsing is that you can filter by gender. Although this is currently the only filter available on the app.
Overall I have given the free Lookbook.nu app 3 stars but it is nonetheless an essential app for keen fashion bloggers. I am relatively new on the site however do check out my Lookbook here. I have included some screenshots below to give you an idea of how the app looks.
Any Lookbook members out there who have used this app, let me know what you thought of it.
Please comment below with any suggestions as to which fashion/beauty app you would like me to review next month.
