Have you tried Kiko Cosmetics before? I hadn’t until recently although I had seen it featured in lots of YouTube videos and blog posts so I was eager to pick up some specific products – the gel eyeliner, eyeliner brush and the water eyeshadow. I’ve taken some pretty photos of each of the products and shared my first impressions of them in today’s beauty blog post.
Lasting Gel Eyeliner
I tend to usually use either an eyeliner pencil or liquid eyeliner so this was new territory for me. I am however determined to master the eyeliner flick and I’ve heard that gel eyeliner is one of the easiest ways to achieve this look. I’d also heard that the
Kiko Cosmetics gel eyeliner was super good so I gave it a go. The eyeliner comes in a small glass pot (6ml) at a price of £8.90. Kiko Cosmetics say that it is long-lasting with exceptional intensity. I used it with the 209 brush (reviewed below) and it was super easy to apply. I found that it dried quickly so there was no issues with smudging and the colour was a nice shiny black. It isn’t the easiest eyeliner to remove though so I’d recommend using a strong eye makeup remover rather than your daily general makeup remover for this.
Eyes 209 Brush
Next up I got an eyeliner brush from Kiko Cosmetics. I had been looking for a small eyeliner brush and the
Eyes 209 brush seemed to fit the bill. At £10.90 it is a little pricey for such a small brush but I was excited to use it with the gel eyeliner previously mentioned. The 209 brush has quite a long wood handle which makes it really easy to use and it is designed to use with liquid or poured eyeliner specifically. I had no difficulty in creating that eyeliner flick using this brush and quite liked it. I would however recommend to wash the brush after each use as the bristles will be quite hard otherwise and not as effective.
Water Eyeshadow 205
The next product I tried was the
Kiko Cosmetics Water Eyeshadow. I initially wanted shade 200 (Champagne) but this was out of stock in the store I visited so I went with shade 205 (Chocolate). This is a deep, glistening brown shade and as with all eyeshadows in this range can be used either wet or dry. The eyeshadow costs £8.90 and comes in a small box with a mirror on the inside. The effect of this eyeshadow is pretty awesome and I was really – really – impressed. I loved it! I used it dry all over my lids and then used it wet with a liner brush to line my eyes.
First Impressions
As far as first impressions with a makeup brand go I was quite impressed. I don’t think Kiko Cosmetics are available in Ireland yet (correct me if I’m wrong) so this is my first time trying the brand. I really like the packaging, it’s sleek and the products are really good quality. I don’t find them overly expensive either based on the quality and value for money. I expect that I will in future add more Kiko Cosmetics products to my makeup collection.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Have you tried any of these products? What is your favourite Kiko Cosmetics product.
