I met with the lovely Anne Connolly who gave me an overview of the Urban Decay brand and products which was really interesting! Urban Decay was first introduced to the market in 1996 with a simple range of lipsticks and nail enamel. It has grown to become one of the more popular beauty brands distinguishng itself as beauty with an edge.

Naked Complexion

I am most familiar with Urban Decay through their eyeshadow palettes, namely the Naked 3 palette which I could not live without! Anne talked me through the products in their Naked Complexion range. First we looked at two of their primer products ‘Brightening and Tightening’ and ‘Pore Perfecting’. I don’t tend to use a primer as often as I probably should so I will definitely be investing in one of these. I then tried the Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Make-Up. This comes in 18 shades and is a natural-looking foundation. There is usually no need for a concealer when using this product which sounds great! The Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder is recently launched and comes in 5 shades. This is great for setting the foundation and again giving a natural look. If you are looking for more coverage the Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder might be more suitable. I loved the Naked Flushed palette which contains a bronzer, highlighter and blush in a compact with mirror. UD will be launching two new shades of this palette in the Summer so keep your eyes peeled! To finish the look you can use a setting spray and ensure your make-up stays in place (another product type I have never tried before!). There are three different setting sprays available from UD – Chill, De-slick and All-nighter setting sprays.

Urban Decay Galway

Urban Decay will be celebrating one year in Galway next month! When I hosted the Galway Bloggers Party last September they were kind enough to come along. They will be announcing details of some exciting events taking place in Debenhams, Galway to celebrate UD one year in Galway so keep an eye on the Debenhams facebook page and local press for details. I will also be sharing details of the events on my facebook page here. I would highly recommend popping into the UD counter in Debenhams for a look at their collection. You can even get a free mini-makeover if you are thinking of trying out a specific product.
I loved the makeover Anne gave me trying out the Naked Complexion products I mentioned already. They were kind enough to give me a goodie bag with some of these products so I could try them out at home. Please let me know in the comments below if there is any particular product you would like me to review.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Have you tried any of these products before, what were your thoughts?
