Wow Ireland is officially in a drought! I never thought that is something I would hear, we are usually lucky to get a few days of sunshine in Summer so I just about have time to write this post before I head to the beach for the day!
I was sent these tights from the lovely people at The Pantyhose Project to review and style. I asked for something ‘out there’ which would provide me with a good challenge to style and these tights certainly did just that! They are from Transparenze at dressmylegs.ie. I thought at first they would be very difficult to wear as they look like you would need a fab pair of pins to pull them off and I was afraid my short little legs would not work with them. The striped and polka dot pattern in black is set against a lovely nude sheer shade. The crossing pattern with the suspender style top can look very sexy and this was not exactly the look I was going for so I decided to go for a fun ‘street style’ outfit. The black wedge heel ankle trainers were perfect for the outfit. I used my #LDNBloggersParty voucher to get these from Quiz Clothing. At £19.99 they are great value and so comfortable to wear. You can get them here. The black leather look shorts are old from River Island and I think they work so well with the outfit and the cute peach blouse which I got in New Look last year. I love the statement necklace which I picked up in Bershka, earrings are from Penneys/Primark. I really like the round frame sunglasses from Forever 21 and have been wearing them a lot lately.
The tights were really easy to wear and felt so comfortable. It took a bit of adjusting to get the criss-crosses at the same height on both legs. I think they could be worn in a totally different way with a simple LBD which is the great thing about funky tights like this they can completely change an outfit.
My sister Stephanie did my hair and make-up for this shoot as I was rushing after work. She was also on hand to give me little modelling tips which were greatly appreciated! I had such fun shooting this outfit with Caroline Walsh (Photos by Caroline). I think this is a really nice casual look for a day in town or a date to the cinema. The tights add that little bit of fun to the look.
What do you think about patterned tights? How do you make them work with an outfit?
