OK it is not every day you receive an invite from His Excellency The Ambassador of Ireland Daniel Mulhall and Mrs. Greta Mulhall. That is exactly what happened when BecBoop was invited along to the Embassy of Ireland last week for the official launch of the Irish Film Festival London.
This was definitely one of the most exciting event invitations I have ever received! I am so proud to be Irish as you guys definitely know. I try to showcase as much of my beautiful home country via live-streaming on my Periscope channel Boop.LIVE every time I return home. To be invited along to the Irish Embassy in London, where I currently live, for the Irish Film Festival London Awards and Launch night meant so much to me.
After getting over the initial dilemma of what does one wear to an awards event at the Embassy of Ireland; I began researching about the Irish Festival London. Being a Galway girl I am very familiar with our local Galway Film Fleadh and I had not appreciated that there were such large-scale International Irish Film Festivals in locations outside of Ireland, London being the largest.
I had such a fabulous night at the Embassy and loved sharing the awards event over on my Snapchat channel Bec_Boop. It was also a pleasure to meet Rio 2016 Paralympic Gold and Silver medalist Katie Dunleavy who was kind enough to let me try on her gold medal for a snap! I really enjoyed mingling with talented Irish film-makers and hearing the stories behind the various films and shorts in the festival.

More about the Irish Film Festival London
Kicking off today, November 23rd for 5 days, the Irish Film Festival London is now in it’s 6th year and will bring the best in contemporary Irish cinema to London audiences. With screenings or events taking place across top London cinema locations there is something to suit all tastes. After meeting the incredibly talented film makers and stars behind these films, I would strongly recommend checking out the Irish Film Festival London 2016 Programme and catching a screening.
