2015 was the year in which I travelled more than ever before. I visited parts of the world I had only ever dreamed of seeing such as Bangalore, India along with re-visiting some of my favourite destinations like Disneyland Paris and New York. Since then I have made no secret of the fact that I have indeed been bitten by the travel bug and although I am loving London, I sometimes find my mind wandering to my next dream destination.
The Virgin Holidays Dream Bigger campaign is just what I needed to stretch my imagination and although the idea of soaking up the culture in Mexico seems just that little out of reach for now I found myself attempting to recreate the experience here in London. Think sipping margarita cocktails minus the rooftop vibes and of course the epic views. Nonetheless it’s as close as I can get and apparently Mexico is my dream destination based on the Virgin Holidays dream destination recommendation tool! I think it suits me too. One lucky person who enters their email address in the #DreamBigger Dream Ticket tool will win the trip of a lifetime to New York City!
I have loved exploring the cosy cocktail bars around London, there is always such a great choice especially in Islington which is close to where I live. Taking note of the Mexican cocktail bars and restaurants which stood out to me I also took to twitter for further recommendations, as you do. We ended up in Desperado’s Mexican restaurant in Angel and as you can see from the photos below, the food was great! Of course I can never resist a good cocktail and after browsing the vast cocktail menu I settled on the tried-and-tested Mexican favourite – a Margarita on the rocks. To me this was a Friday evening well spent however I can only imagine how much more amazing it would be would be to enjoy a cocktail on my perfect Mexican getaway… one can dream!
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Let me know what your dream destination is or tag me on twitter @BoopFashionista with #DreamBigger to join in the conversation…
