Can you believe it’s nearly swimwear season already! I am so excited for Summer this year especially as it will be my first Summer in London but also because I’m planning some short holiday breaks which are great to look forward to. I had not properly started planning my Summer wishlists so when River Island got in touch earlier in the week this was the perfect opportunity to put together a Beach Party Style inspiration post.
I was asked to compile a beach party style post featuring only items from the River Island website and this is what I came up with. All of the items featured in my wishlist are available to shop online in the widget below.
Why is this my Beach Party Style?
The colour of that bikini, need I say anymore? I absolutely love the bold lilac two-piece and decided to centre my beach party look on this. I also wanted to ensure the items featured in my Beach Party Wishlist are items which I would actually wear (in real life). I’m pretty fussy when it comes to my bikini’s, I’m quite petite but, shall we say, blessed with a larger chest which means it can be difficult to get a really well fitting bikini. I like that this bikini top is quite structured as it has a bustier style so it looks like it would give great support for splashing about in the waves! You can’t see the back detail in the style board above but the back is so pretty – there’s zip fastening with even more mesh detail. Another reason why this bikini caught my eye was the high-waisted bikini bottoms style. This would be a new bikini trend for me to try out and this style can be really flattering so I’d love to give it a go. At a beach party you’re more than likely going to want to cover up once you come out of the pool or sea so I added some pieces to the wishlist which would be great for throwing on over your bikini once you’re out of the water. I love the sleeveless denim blazer, it’s edgy and even worn on it’s own over the bikini would look super stylish. I would definitely wear these mesh studded shorts from the River Island Pacha range to cover up at a beach party. They are so my style! I love that with the mesh material you will still see the pop of lilac from the bikini bottoms. It was not easy to settle on the beach party accessories as River Island have literally a beach accessories section I could stare at all day long. Nonetheless in contrast to my regular style I went for a sun-visor instead of a beach hat. I think this is quite different and adds some sporty style to the overall look while keeping with the mesh theme. The ombre round sunglasses and silver platform sandals complete the beach party look. Now all I have to do is find a suitable beach party – I can already hear my Summer Theme Tune Mr. Probz – Waves calling out to me.
Let me know your beach party style in the comments below!
I love platform sandals in summer – I'm petite so anything with a platform or wedge is a winner in my book, especially since it's shorts and summer dress season! x http://www.lovedbylaura.com
