Urban Decay is my favourite beauty brand lately and I just had to have the latest palette which was recently released – Naked on the Run. This is a limited edition travel beauty set and I’ve been trying it out to review here for you. You might remember I had a preview of this back in early February when I was invited into the Urban Decay counter in Debenhams Galway for a look at their SS15 collection.
The Lowdown
Naked on the Run comes in a sleek square palette containing 5 eyeshadows, a bronzer, blusher, highlighter, Perversion Mascara, Eye liner pencil and a lipgloss. As with all Urban Decay makeup sets the box is absolutely exquisite. I love it! The eyeshadow colours are quite neutral tones of brown/bronze consisting of two matte colours and three shimmer colours. These are 5 new shades – Dive, Fix, Resist, Dare and Stun. My favourite is Dive as this is a copper shimmer which is lovely for everyday wear. I’ve also been using Dare to fill in my eye-brows as this is a matte light brown shade which really suits my colouring. The bronzer/blusher combo is really well pigmented. So much so in fact that you might want to take it easy on applying this. A small amount of each powder goes a long long way. With the blusher in particular I would recommend building up the colour gradually as it’s a really vibrant pink shade. There’s a gorgeous all-over highlighter in shade 5050 which is a really subtle shimmer. I’ve been using this mostly under my brow-bone to highlight this area. I fell in love with the mascara in Naked on the Run. Perversion is a bristle brush mascara which I am quite a fan of and it is quite amazing! A travel-size one is included in the kit but I’m definitely tempted to head out and pick up the full-size product after trying this. I’d rank it up there with Benefit Bad Gal mascara in terms of favourite bristle brush mascaras. I prefer Perversion mascara to the Urban Decay Super Curling mascara which I’ve also tried. I really liked that the travel-size eyeliner pencil in the kit is a dark brown as compared to the usual black eyeliner pencils in travel kits. Dark brown can be more wearable for a day to day look and I really like this shade – Stag. Finally the full-size lipgloss is a sheer light rose shade – Sesso.
Bec Boop’s Verdict
At £37/€44 it is on the pricey side but you are getting a huge amount of good quality makeup products for this in one handy travel kit. I definitely recommend it but hurry as it’s limited edition it may not be re-stocked. The good thing is you can swap the shade in the kit for your favourite Urban Decay ultra-nourishing lipgloss if you feel like changing up the look.
