The Instant Firming Beauty Shot serum is REN Skincare’s latest skincare product offering and is targeted at those lusting after young and beautiful skin. I went along to the REN Skincare 15th anniversary celebrations a couple of week’s ago in House, Dublin which you might have seen over on the Bec Boop Instagram and where Skincare Education expert David Leigh Delport was on hand to share the lowdown on the new serum with us all. This can be used as a makeup primer or alone to lift the skin instantly for a result which lasts for hours. David demonstrated the best ways to apply one or two drops of the rose-scented, clear serum to the skin, recommending the box-pat where it is gently patted on to the skin. The serum comes in a 30ml bottle with a drop applicator and has been available in-store since February 2015 for €48. It’s a gel-serum which tightens and firms the skin also reducing the appearance of pores. The serum contains phycocollids and two types of hyaluronans which are the big skincare buzz-word at the moment. The great thing about this serum is that it can be used regularly during the day, even over your makeup depending on how often you wish to apply it. 

I’ve been using this twice daily for the last week or so and definitely noticed a tightening sensation after application. I would recommend following with your regular moisturising routine as I found it can be a little drying when used alone. The rose scent is really lovely to apply and I found it was suitable event for sensitive skin. That’s the great thing about REN Skincare, REN actually means ‘clean’ in Swedish and this product contains no parabens, sulphates or nasty additives at all. 

I’d recommend this as an anti-ageing product to build into your skincare routine if you’re not already using a serum. I’ve really started to understand the importance of incorporating a serum into your skincare routine and a hyaluronans based one is definitely top of all the skincare recommendations of late. I’d also recommend this as an on-the-go or quick-fix skincare serum as it’s quite an instant result as opposed to some other products which may work over a continued use pattern.
