Working the Turban | Outfit

I had a few days off work last week and of course spent them in my favourite place – Galway city! We took these photos in one of Galway’s most well-known areas, Eyre Square. I mixed some vintage with high-street for this outfit.

Turban & Sunglasses Cotton Face Vintage // Blazer & Necklace Forever 21 // Trousers River Island // Shoes Toms // Cami Penneys/Primark
I’ve had this velvet turban from Cotton Face Vintage for quite a while now and have been looking for the best outfit to wear it with. I like how it works well with the blues and greens in the floral blazer and yet because the rest of the outfit is reasonably casual it isn’t “too much”. Since I’ve been wearing different styles of hats recently it was nice to branch out a bit with my headgear this time! I also recently rediscovered my love for Toms. They are the perfect Summer shoes for wearing out and about town. I picked up the cat-eye sunnies in Cotton Face Vintage also, only last week so I expect there is still some of this style available in store. They have a cool, retro look to them. I am loving the need for wearing sunnies lately…all this talk about thunderstorms and weather warnings is going to get me down!
Floral print is a huge trend this Summer and I like that the print on this blazer is a little different to what I have come to expect with florals. I’m all about blues and greens, and working them with my staple colour of black. I added my Forever 21 statement necklace and some handy candy to show off my new gel nails.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. What are your thoughts on this outfit? Turbans as a fashion statement?
