Fashion Friday (Limerick, Riverfest)

I love blogging about and attending fashion events and there is one very exciting one coming up this weekend. It is not every day we get a Fashion Extravaganza handed to us on our lunch-break and this is certainly my favourite way to start the Summer! This weekend sees Limerick’s Summer Festival Riverfest team up with style queen Celia Holman-Lee to get the weekend off to a fashionable start with Fashion Friday. I have lived in Limerick city for almost four years now and over this time I have seen Limerick really earn it’s fashion stars with Ireland’s only Fashion Quarter and the best of Limerick city shopping will be on display during the FREE fashion shows this Friday 3rd May.
This is certainly a day not to be missed by any fashionistas! You can expect to see the Summer collections from: Brown Thomas, Pamela Scott, O’Donnell’s, Helene Modes, Dolly Boutique, Gretta Gibbs, Flax in Bloom, Caroline Mitchell Knitwear, Lady Penelope, Tippe Canoe, Edinburgh Woollen Mills, Vamp, Nelo Maternity, In Vogue, Carraig Donn, 7 Camicie, Virginias, The Ivory Closet, Seduz, Stitch, Be Fabulous, Watercolours and Imasa.
Shoes, jewellery and accessories from Joli, Seoidin, No.15, Keanes Jewellers, Tadhg Kearney Jewellers, Ryans Jewellers, Matthew Stephens, Serendipity Shoe Boutique, Carl Scarpa, Leavy’s Shoes and Michael Gleeson Shoes will also be on display.
The men have no excuses as there will also be some menswear on show!
There will be two FREE fashion shows at 1.15pm and 4.30pm on Thomas Street, Limerick city. I am so happy that there is a lunchtime show as there is nothing more exciting than fitting my fashion obsession into my working day 😉
I think it is great that Fashion Friday gives local transition year students a chance to showcase their designing talents also with the stylish ‘Junk Kouture’ show which will take place at 3pm. Check out one of the cool designs below which will be on display at the event. The evening will end with a classy jazz performance at 6.30pm by the 17 piece Savoy Jazz orchestra. This certainly sounds like a weekend not to be missed by Limerick fashionistas. I will share some snaps on the blog at the weekend if you are not lucky enough to attend. Let’s hope this fab Irish Summer weather lasts until then!

Are you looking forward to Fashion Friday? Have you attended this event before?
