I’m back again with another Urban Decay post! As a beauty blogger when you adore a brand as much as I love Urban Decay featuring it on your blog just comes so naturally. Today I want to introduce you to two of the newest Urban Decay eye shadow palettes to hit the beauty counters – the Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow palette and the Naked Smoky palette. I have added both of these to my little Urban Decay eye shadow palette collection, alongside the Naked 3 and Vice 3.
Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette
This stunning palette was gifted to me by the wonderful British Beauty Blogger and I’ve been playing around with it for the last couple of months. You don’t have to look at the case twice to associate it with Gwen Stefani although the colours inside did happily surprise most people. Opening it reveals 15 shades with a balanced mix of shimmer and matte colours. This is the palette I packed in my travel case for the holiday period taking it with me to New York and home to Ireland for Christmas. I think the palette is so wearable. Most shades would be perfect for an everyday makeup look and there are some vibrant colours to contrast this when it comes to building up your look.
As you can see in the photo above the shades I have been loving when it comes to a neutral, daytime makeup look are: baby, pop, steady and bathwater which are four shimmery, neutral shades. My most used shade, to my surprise, is punk! I love adding this to the outer-corner of my eyes and using as an eye-liner for my lower lashes. I also used serious and danger quite a bit when I felt like creating a bold, smoky look. Overall I love this palette and you can certainly expect to see me wearing these shades a lot more in 2016. I am also super excited to try out the new products which just launched from the Gwen Stefani range!
Naked Smoky
This palette was gifted to me by my sister for Christmas. She knows me well! Out of the Naked palettes I have only tried the Naked 3 so I was really looking forward to how different this one would be. The packaging, as one comes to expect with Urban Decay, is super cool! I love it. There are twelve smoky eyeshadow shades inside ranging from shimmery or matte neutrals to dark shades. I really like how the colours are not solely dark smoky shades but also some warm shades which tend to suit my skin-tone a little more.
The shades I have been using most, as you will see above, include high as an inner-eye shimmer, dirtysweet, radar, slanted and smolder. I am always really impressed with the makeup brushes that come along with the Urban Decay palettes and this one is no exception. A nicely sized double-ended eye brush perfect for blending and building up your look.
