I organise my beauty collection into seasons, I also organise my makeup into categories – office, weekend and event. I had been on the hunt for a new lipstick for my everyday office makeup look and keen to lose my NARS lipstick virginity in I headed to the Nars counter to see what I could find. I ended up settling on the NARS Sheer Lipstick in shade Damage which to me is the perfect Winter office lipstick.
I wanted something relatively nude, but still with that Winter berry feel we all lust for. I work in a professional office environment so a bold lippie is completely out of the question. NARS describe the shade as sheer, muted grape. The sheer lipstick range from NARS really appealed to me as they are quite soothing on the lips, which is super important at this time of year when the cold weather is not our friend. The formula actually helps nourish, hydrate and protect your lips so it’s basically a Winter beauty essential, right?!
These lipsticks are so super sheer and I was impressed with how the pigment shined through. It glides on to your lips, almost like a lip balm but leaves a relatively long-lasting colour. For a day at the office I only ended up re-applying it once. Damage is an extremely wearable shade, hence why it fits the bill for my perfect Winter office lipstick. I wouldn’t say it’s very build-able but for a subtle, shine with a hint of colour, it’s great.
I was surprised by the size of the lipstick, it’s almost miniature like and is a bit smaller than most of the other lipsticks in my makeup drawer. Super cute size for popping in your handbag on-the-go. I expect it will last me long enough to get through the Winter. At £20 it is a little on the pricey side but a rather good Winter investment I would think
I haven’t shared any swatches because I thought it would be fun to see how the lipstick actually looks in real life. Here is a broadcast from my Periscope channel, one of my coffee-scopes where I had just applied the lipstick before leaving the house. You can also get an up close at the lipstick during the broadcast too.
