We met outside of the Shoreditch underground station where the team gave us each a Nokia Lumia 930 mobile phone for use during the tour. We also met the hosts – Karim from Street Art London and Phil Hibberd from Photography Made Simple, who was on hand to share some mobile photography tips with us.
I’ve shared the images below, all taken on the Nokia Lumia phone on the tour which was so insightful. I loved hearing the stories behind each of the street art pieces we seen. Creativity is something which I am incredibly inspired by and I loved looking at London through the eyes of a street artist. It was so interesting to see the different forms of street art, for instance the first photograph below is a string-on-a-fence piece, still considered street art.
I also learned a bit more about mobile photography. Admittedly I set my phone to square mode and shoot when it comes to taking photos on my mobile phone choosing generally to edit the photo afterwards in an app. Phil however had me thinking more about getting the mobile shot right first time and working more with composition and lighting.
I was very impressed with the photo quality of the Nokia Lumia! I’m an iPhone user but I don’t rate the camera there very high at all and I would very rarely publish a mobile photo here on my blog but I am proud to say that all of the images in this blog post were taken on mobile!
