While I was at home back in Galway a few weeks ago I was invited into the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa for a fun Girls’ Day Out. I was so looking forward to it as I don’t indulge in a spa day very often and of course my favourite person, Stephanie, was joining me for the day. We actually had our spa day just before the start of the Galway Races so the timing was perfect as we were fully refreshed before the big week. We started our day in the Spirit One Spa where we enjoyed the thermal suite in our own time.
Spirit One Spa
We were shown around the various thermal suites before being left to relax and move from room to room at our own pace. The thermal suites include the following – laconium, aroma grotto, experience showers, rock sauna, sabia med and hammam. My favourite was definitely the sabia med or ‘beach’ as it is more commonly known. This is a room where you literally lie in the tropical sand and relax while the sun rises around you while enjoying the beach vibes. We ended our time in the thermal suites by popping on the heated relaxation loungers until we were called for our treatments in the spa.
We had both opted for facial skincare treatment. My skin was really overdue a good pick me up with all the travelling I’ve been doing lately. I had the Elemis Biotec facial which is a brand new exclusive 60 minute facial treatment on offer in the Spirit One Spa. I really liked that this is a customisable facial treatment. It offers 7 super-charged facial treatments including anti-ageing, lifting & firming, resurfacing, dullness and anti-blemish; however the therapist tailors this to suit your individual skin-type and skincare needs. Needless to say, my skin felt and looked amazing after the facial. Exactly the pick-me-up it needed.
Stephanie went for the Elemis Modern Skin treatment and here is what she had to say about it: The Elemis Modern Skin Treatment was the perfect facial treatment to de-stress over the course of an hour and bring back a youthful glow and overall radiance to my skin. The treatment incorporated specialised deep cleansing and Eastern massage techniques. As I have sensitive skin I was apprehensive prior to getting a facial, I was completely reassured by my Therapist, Kate, that this facial is suitable for all skin types. A fruit active rejuvenating mask with a luscious creamy consistency was applied to restore glow and moisture to the skin. I really loved the final product used, A gel based gentle Rose exfoliator with Rose, cucumber and jojoba beads left my skin feeling silky and soft.
Afternoon Tea
Following our time in the spa we went into the Atrium in the Radisson Blu Hotel where we were served the most delicious afternoon tea. I’m a lover of afternoon tea, I think it’s pretty much an essential on a Girls’ Day Out and the Radisson Galway certainly didn’t disappoint. As you guys know at this stage I pretty much broadcast my life on Periscope so of course you can watch the full replay of my Radisson Galway Afternoon Tea Periscope here if you feel like it.
