Urban Decay Products Review | Beauty

A couple of weeks ago I visited Urban Decay in Debenhams Galway for a preview of the Urban Decay Spring ’15 collection. I went away with some fab beauty products to try out and I’ve reviewed them here, just “Click to View Post” under the image for more photos and to continue reading…

Lipstick – Anarchy

Urban decay Anarchy Lipstick blog review
This shade is a fuchsia pink from the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick collection – creamy shine with intense pigmentation. This is the second shade I’ve tried from the collection, you might remember I reviewed shade 69 last year and loved it! I tried the lipstick out last week and who ever said redheads can’t wear pink was seriously wrong 🙂 The colour was super pretty and a perfect statement lippie for this time of year. I also think it makes a nice alternative to red lips. Being honest, Urban Decay is really becoming one of my favourite beauty brands lately and I actually squealed with excitement when I stumbled upon the Urban Decay store in Covent Garden at the weekend. I tend to keep their lipsticks for statement-wear but they have some really pretty neutrals in the collection too which would be great for everyday wear. Anarchy is from the original Revolution collection and Urban Decay have just launched a new Sheer Revolution range which I’ve also blogged about recently.

Base – Primer & Prep Spray

Urban decay primer review
This is the Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion. Now I’ve said it before, I’m not very good at wearing a primer under my makeup, I’m usually in such a rush that I don’t have time to apply one during my everyday makeup routine. I did try this out a couple of days recently though and really liked it. It’s light enough to wear on an everyday basis as it’s quite refreshing. It promises to make wrinkles relax, tired areas tighten and lift and dull skin come alive. This really sounds right up my street. I may be in mid-twenties but I’m a firm believer in looking after your skin from a younger age. You’re never too young to think about anti-ageing products, especially in such a busy world; I find working on laptops for long hours, using smartphones repeatedly, driving in the dark and city air really impacts your skin and can make it more prone to wrinkles. Now that I’m living in London I’m going to be really paying more attention to this. The primer is packed full of high-performance ingredients meaning that although there is an instant result, there are also long-term benefits of applying it too. Definitely one for the everyday makeup bag!

Travel Size Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray

Urban Decay prep spray blog
I tried this prep spray for the first time in-store when an Urban Decay makeup artist recommended it. The spray is applied to clean skin before moisturiser or makeup but it can also be used anytime during the day to refresh skin or at night before your bedtime skincare routine. I can see this becoming a little addition to my handbag for pottering around London as it’s only 15ml and is a cute little travel-size bottle. Your skin can really get so super tired when you’re on the go all day or working in an office/retail area with air-conditioning for long hours. It’s nice to treat it to a quick instant pick-me-up during the day. The formula contains Vitamin B6 which helps absorb oil and reduce the appearance of pores.

Super Curling Mascara

When it comes to mascara I’m more of a natural bristles lover rather than plastic bristles so I was a bit prejudiced when it came to trying out this mascara. The rounded wand aims to sculpt your lashes for an instantly prettier look. I tried this both with and without using an eyelash curler and I did notice a difference. The mascara really pushes your eyelashes up ever so slightly to give them a curlier look 🙂 So much so that the first time I applied it I ended up with mascara alllllll over my perfect eyeshadow so do take it easy until you get used to the shape of the wand! My mistake, but I surprisingly liked the mascara – plastic bristles and all.
