This day 2 years ago I started the Bec Boop blog with my very first Welcome blog post (cringe). When I reflect upon that post, it’s quite obvious how much my life has changed since then and a lot of it is down to this project – blogging. I started blogging because I always had an interest in writing and journalism but ended up becoming a qualified chartered accountant. Once I had all of the professional exams out of the way I needed something else to fill the spare time that studying had taken up. That’s when I started – Bec Boop – knowing very little about what blogging even meant. I can’t thank you all enough for reading and supporting my blog over theses 2 years, the support and opportunities I’ve had has been amazing and even overwhelming at times. I’ve enjoyed every second of this learning curve and can’t wait to continue to develop my blog further over the coming year. Well when I wrote that little ‘Welcome’ blog post 2 years ago I certainly couldn’t have predicted that I’d be here living in London 2 years later! I’m the sort of person who hates to be bored and always needs to be busy busy. Hence I work full-time as an accountant and run this blog/YouTube channel on my own. Before I started blogging I would spend my weekends watching hours of pointless TV shows and basically didn’t live a fulfilling lifestyle in that sense. Now I don’t watch any TV (except when I get hooked on the occasional Netflix series!) at all and spend every spare second developing my blog. I do enjoy my day-job as an accountant, I guess I wouldn’t be doing it otherwise but the challenge of balancing this with working on my blog is what makes it especially rewarding. I’m much happier and I love having a purpose and project outside of my day-job. I’ve had amazing opportunities over the past 2 years which you can read about in my Year in Review posts – 2013 and 2014. Who knows what the rest of 2015 will bring!
