Valentine’s Fashion to me is all about cute shades of pink and red. When I was coming up with my Valentine’s Day evening look I thought to myself, “What does every lady want to receive on Valentine’s Day?” – Roses of course. So this floral print jacquard skater dress from Asos was the perfect statement piece for the look. I also love the vibrant metallic colours in the dress. A skater style dress is a good choice for a Valentine’s date night as it can be kept quite casual or dressed up if you are still a bit unsure about the overall dress-code for the night. I decided to wear these ankle boots from the Amy Huberman collection at Greenes Shoes as ankle boots have a way of just adding that extra edge to an outfit without looking like you made ‘too much’ effort. This is something you want to avoid of course on Valentine’s night! Keep it casj 😉 As February is still a chilly month I added this stunning textured coat from Warehouse which contrasted with the texture in the dress really well. This sparkly necklace from Phase Eight was the perfect accessory to complete the look. I’m a big fan of the over-sized zipper detail on the back of the dress too.
On first impressions this isn’t a style of dress I would wear usually as the skirt appears very flouncy but I absolutely loved it once I tried it on. I’m a strong believer that any fashion item can be worked into your own individual fashion taste, it’s all about how you style it and how you wear it really.
This look was put together as part of my Valentine’s Day outfit collaboration with Style Gamblers fashion blog so be sure to head over and check out their post to see what oufits Veronika and Agata came up with. You can also follow Style Gamblers on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
