Welcome to the very first edition of Boop’s Week! This is a new lifestyle feature I’m aiming to share with you on a weekly basis, every Friday. Something little to look forward to 🙂 Basically every Friday I’m going to share five impressions from the week gone by – be it news, photos from the Bec Boop Instagram, meaningful quotes, experiences, favourite products – fashion/beauty or something totally random! Who knows; and I really hope you enjoy this new weekly feature, let’s call it a little insight into the world of Bec Boop. “Click to View Post” under the image to continue reading and see what I got up to this week…
Favourite Quote
You know the story, you go to bed at a reasonable hour…next thing you know it’s two hours later and you’re browsing Pinterest on your phone! Story of my life anyways. I consider myself a bit of an early bird and a night owl. Right now I can function quite fine on 5 hours sleep, that’s all I need and I crazily see sleeping as such a waste of time. I guess when you’re running a blog and working full-time as an accountant you get by on the minimum zzzzz’s. Before the lectures start I know this will catch up with me eventually and I’ll learn to enjoy the occasional sleep-in. This little quote which I shared on Instagram during the week made me smile one of those late nights when I was browsing the interweb *looking for blog inspiration of course*.
It would be impossible to talk about the week gone by without reflecting on the horrific attack in Paris and the after-effect of solidarity we witnessed worldwide. I was absolutely shocked by the videos which were shared online and this attack on freedom of speech can never be justified. There were so many images shared on twitter under #CharlieHebdo or #JeSuisCharlie but nothing demonstrated the true impact of this more than the video above where the lights of the Eiffel Tower were switched off for 5 minutes on Thursday 8 January as a mark of respect to the 12 innocent victims of the terrorist attack.
Radio Experience
An Instagram shot of Galway I shared during the week |
I was interviewed on Galway Bay FM radio during the week on the Keith Finnegan show which was such a fantastic and exciting experience. You all know how much I love Galway city and to be interviewed on the radio station which I grew up listening to was such an awesome feeling. You can listen to the full interview in the podcast at 01:53.
New Teeth!
During the week I had my first consultation with David McConville Orthodontics for the invisalign treatment. I’ve always had a thing about my teeth and you might have noticed I usually tend to do the Bec Boop pout in photos. I’m super excited to be starting the invisalign treatment over the next few months with the Sligo clinic of #McConvilleOrtho who I’ve heard fantastic things about. During the consultation I learnt all about the process and it is exactly what I was looking for, as the braces are practically invisible so don’t really impact your day-to-day habits or appearance at all while wearing them. You can clearly see how thrilled I looked in the dentist chair 🙂 I’ll be blogging about the treatment fully over the next year and you’ll be able to follow my invisalign journey over on the David McConville Orthodontics facebook page. Here’s to straight teeth in 2015.
Hair Product
I first tried these hair product’s New Year’s Eve before I went out that night and I’ve been using them this week since then. Oh my god – the shine! I had been using the Garnier Ultimate Blends ‘The Sleek Restorer’ previously but it is not a patch on this one – ‘The Nourishing Repairer’. The avocado oil and shea butter leaves your hair feeling super super soft and with such a healthy shine. I was really impressed.
Whittling it down to only five items from the past week was a lot more difficult than I expected! I really hope you enjoyed the first edition of Boop’s Week and look forward to another little update next Friday.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. What did you get up to this week?

-I love the idea of this series and learned so much from it. I in particular like the first quote, especially since I met you at 1 AM at the Twitter chat yesterday. Funny!
-I'm so sad to hear about everything going on in France at the moment but the way everyone has been brought together because of it has been inspiring.
-Congratulations for getting on the radio! I'll try to listen to the broadcast later, that must have been such an exciting day for you.
Kindness is the best accessory,

Thanks Josie! I'll have another one up this Friday 🙂
Thanks Jennifer, fingers crossed! I'm excited to start the treatment anyways 🙂
Thanks for dropping by Rebecca! yep, I'm such a night owl, joining in the US Bloggers Chat is so much fun though 🙂
"I consider myself a bit of an early bird and a night owl" – same here (only the former previously but also the latter lately)
"Right now I can function quite fine on 5 hours sleep" – I'm surprised sometimes it can be even 2-4 for me & I'm parent generation.
"That's all I need and I crazily see sleeping as such a waste of time" – similarly. I need a 48 hrs day, I'm full of …s…orry, ideas that do not make money yet & not enough time to implement them all.
"working full-time as an accountant you get by on the minimum zzzzz's" – ouch! You suue? Careful with those figures, Bec Boop! 😛
"I've always had a thing about my teeth and you might have noticed I usually tend to do the Bec Boop pout in photos" – don't stress yourself too much about your teeth. That "thing" & the "pout" pose are part of your personal charm.
"I'm super excited to be starting the invisalign treatment over the next few months with the Sligo clinic of #McConvilleOrtho" – I would laugh my …ar…t if two female accountants who are so much into beauty were to meet there: yourself & my cousin (as if she cared at all about my existence).
"During the consulation" – I'm hereby proclaiming you Honorary Consul of Galway in Sligo. Or was it of Athenry in Galway?
My week? Mostly Skype job interviews & even something strangely alluding to an offer. However, anything that comes from Dublin/Cork is just rehearsal for me. I get more excited about calls with o consequence from Ballina, Co. Mayo, & Donegal. God, if you really have to take me outta Galway, at least keep me still in Connacht, for Christ's sake! 😀
Haha thanks for the comment, your analysis of my post made me smile 🙂
