Interview with Sini Moilanen of My Galavant

Happy Monday Fashionistas. Today was Day One of the course I have been looking forward to all year – Introduction to Fashion Design at Limerick School of Art and Design. I had a brilliant day and cannot wait to learn more about fashion design over the coming week.
This post is the first interview feature on Bec Boop Fashionista World. This is something which I have been looking forward to doing on the blog and I hope you enjoy delving into the lives of those close to the heart of the fashion world as much as I enjoy interviewing them. I love discovering new clothing lines and boutiques and My Galavant quickly caught my attention with their unique prints and contemporary clothing items.
Sini Moilanen (Designer) from My Galavant sheds some light on this new contemporary women’s wear line which is a diffusion line for high end label Tramp in Disguise

Bec Boop: Can you give us an insight into the recent launch of My Galavant.

Sini Moilanen: My Galavant launched at the end of May 2013 after a demand for a diffusion line.

How did you come up with the name My Galavant?

The name comes  from our main line name Tramp In Disguise – Tramp word has got many meanings but one of them means to walk for long time and distance.  Galavant is another spelling for Gallivant, which means to go around from place to place in pursuit of pleasure and merriment.

What is the inspiration behind the line?

The inspiration for the line comes from the main line Tramp In Disguise.

My Galavant is a diffusion line for the high end label Tramp in Disguise. What exactly does this mean for the savvy fashionista?

My Galavant is more commercial line of Tramp In Disguise and more affordable too to reach wider audience.

You specialise in printed garments, which print is your favorite?

My favorite print is the Blue Magic Carpet print which is used on the Tuscany and Rochelle dresses for example.

How do you decide on the colours for your designs?

I decide the colours partly from the inspiration for the collection but mainly what colours I think look nice together.

Who is the target audience for the line?

Target audience for the line is 20-40 year old women.

Which celebrity would you like to see wearing your collection?

Rihanna or Jessie J.

When and where will the line be available?

The line will be in the shops at the end of September.

What does the future hold for My Galavant?

This is our first collection so I hope it will do well and in the future I hope My Galavant will be stocked in shops around the world.

Bec Boop Fashionista World also has a sneak peek at the Autumn 2013 Lookbook for you. I love the jumpsuits and I think the prints are just gorgeous! My favourite has to be the Nancy jumpsuit. Which items do you like fashionistas? Are you looking forward to seeing My Galavant in stores?
