Spring into Stripes

One of my favourite style trends has always been Stripes and Spring 2013 has seen a major comeback for this look! Stripes always looks fun as long as you don’t overdo it! There is always the danger of entering Beetlejuice territory! As I might have mentioned before on Bec Boop Fashionista World I am a major monochrome fan and I find that simple black and white stripes always looks so classy. There is such variety out there at the moment with thick stripes or skinny stripes in any colours! Stripes can be worn with other trends such as nautical, monochrome or as an individual fashion statement.
I find that wearing one simple striped piece is sufficient to work this look and pair with a colour-block jacket/handbag and simple chunky accessories for an effortless image. Stripes on stripes is not so fashionable!
I have put together some of my favourite celebrity Stripes looks for Spring.
Taylor looks so cute and girly in this black and white Kate Spade New York Carolyn Stripe Dress. The look is effortlessly chic with Taylor’s signature red lips and simple black Christian Louboutin pumps. Olivia Palermo, the ultimate NY style queen paired a simple black and pale pink striped shirt and skirt at a recent Dior show. Finally, my favourite stripey look from this season – Miley Cyrus. I think Miley really shows her youth in this style and the dress is so fun! The black suede wedges give the outfit a unique and edgy Fashionista feel. (Will Miley be our next Fashionista of the Month?)

I am excited to rock the Stripes trend next weekend when I get back from my work trip. I recently bought this gorgeous black and white Stripe Skater skirt from New Look. Look out for pictures on my Lookbook later in the week.
